THE national day for play was celebrated in Highbridge with more than 40 activities provided for children.

Playday, which is partly funded by the National Lottery, highlights the importance of play in children’s lives.

Families were invited to take part in a hand-picked line-up of free activities including wall climbing, paintballing, archery, fishing, arts and crafts, drumming, rugby, football and face painting in Apex Park.

Hordes of children got stuck in to the variety of community games and activities to celebrate the national event.
