Free passes for swimmers

SWIMMERS have been given free passes to swim at a leisure centre in Weston in preparation for their big charity swim.

RNLI’s big swim entrants have been given free swimming passes for Hutton Moor Leisure Centre to help them train for the sponsored swim on August 7.

The two-and-a-half mile swim will begin at the end of Brean Down and finish in Anchor Head in Weston.

It is the seventh year that the race has been organised in Weston Bay for the RNLI.

The swimmers will be transported by boat to the sea off Brean Down in the Bristol Channel at 11am.

Race organiser Sean Mchenry said: “It is difficult to do most of the training in the sea so this support for the ten swimmers facing the challenge of the two and a half mile swim is very much appreciated.”
