VOLUNTEERS served up a charity big breakfast for hundreds in Congresbury on Saturday morning.
A team of 24 members of the Weston Hospicecare friends group cooked up a full English breakfast at the Rec Club pavilion in Stonewell Lane and raised around £1,700 for the hospice group.
The team also raised funds by selling cakes, jams and pickles as well as Weston Hospicecare Christmas cards, and by holding a weight of the cake competition and a raffle.
Fund-raiser Sue Sweet said: “What the team in Congresbury achieved on Saturday is amazing. It is so well supported each year from the local community which is a credit to everyone involved.
“The money raised would keep all the patients in IPU pain free for nearly three months – that is incredible, the group should be extremely proud of themselves.”
