A family fun day held in memory of a little boy from Worle saw more than £2,000 raised for charity.

The one-day event was held at the Golden Lion pub in Worle High Street, and was organised in memory of Oscar Steele, who was stillborn last year.

It took place on what would have been his first birthday and was held to raise money for Stillbirth And Neonatal Death (SAND).

Oscar’s grandmother Karen Staples raised £1,520 towards the total by having her head shaved.

Oscar’s mother Jade Staples said: “The charity is there for grieving parents who have 
experienced stillbirth and neonatal death. The money also goes towards supporting research into these deaths.”

It total, the event raised £2,169 towards the charity’s research work.
