A RAFFLE has helped raise almost £1,000 for children and orphans in India.

A RAFFLE has helped raise almost £1,000 for children and orphans in India.

People who entered a Christmas Raffle and made donations at Compton House of Fashion in Wedmore helped raise £990 for the education of 148 children and 10 orphans at the Siddhartha Educational Trust.

Polly and Piers Blakeney-Edwards, who run the business in The Borough, have been supporting the charity for five years. Anyone who would like to make a donation can call 01934 712779. Winners of the raffle are named at www.comptonhouseoffashion.co.uk
