A WESTON-SUPER-MARE treatment centre for people recovering from addiction to drugs or alcohol has just been given a funding boost from the police.

Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens awarded Broadway Lodge in Totterdown Lane a slice of her Community Action Fund.

In the fund’s latest round of grants, £40,406 has been awarded to 15 community or voluntary groups.

PCC Sue Mountstevens said: “I hope this support will help their schemes and ideas flourish, enabling them in their quest of enhancing their local communities.”

Community and voluntary organisations are invited to apply for up to £5,000 from the fund.
