Fourteen daredevils conquered their fears to abseil down Uphill Quarry in aid of the charity.

Some fundraisers took part in memory of a loved one, while others took on the abseil as a personal challenge.

Paul Winspear, chief executive at the hospice, was able to tick off another challenge he has tackled for the hospice, which includes the Mendip Challenge last year and Ride London in July.

Event fundraiser, Kelsey Dehaney, said: “Our abseil was a fantastic challenge, and we’re very thankful to all our brave participants.”

The abseil marked the first of the challenge events in Weston Hospicecare’s 2018 calendar, which include skydiving, the Three Peak Challenge, and a
trek along the Great Wall of China.
