Weston-super-Mare’s pop-up amusement park is set to return this week, packed with a thrilling selection of rides and games to enjoy over the school summer holidays.

Weston Mercury:

Funland @ The Tropicana will return this weekend for a 12-week stint which will delight thrill-seekers throughout the school break.

The Tropicana, in Marine Parade, will be home to Funland from Saturday until September 3 from 10am-8pm, with potential for later openings depending on demand.

The park will operate on a token system, with each token priced £1 and rides costing between one and four tokens.

A range of rides will feature at Funland, with the new 40m-high Storm ride and a classic log flume certain to get pulses racing.

Weston Mercury:

Funland occupied the Trop in the spring for three months before vacating for the Hazy Days music festival which took place at the weekend, and work to install the rides began while the final concert chords were still reverberating around the venue.

Event organiser James Rogers told the Mercury: “This summer for the first time we have a giant log flume along with the Wild Mouse rollercoaster, plus all the firm favourites like dodgems and waltzers.

“The log flume is going to go down really well in the nice weather.

“The best ride for thrill-seekers is going to be the high-speed Storm ride, which generates between three and four Gs as people come downwards.

“It’s definitely going to be the best Funland event so far.”

The Mercury has teamed up with Funland @ The Tropicana to offer five lucky readers the chance to win one-day unlimited rides passes for a family of four on a day of their choice.
