THE second stage of consultation for a new reservoir in Cheddar starts this month.

Plans for Cheddar Reservoir Two have been refined since the first period of consultation, with Bristol Water making amendments following people’s concerns about traffic and the environmental impact.

Bristol Water’s new proposal has removed a raised walkway between the new and old reservoir and it is creating a detailed transport plan to address concerns about construction traffic.

It is also liaising with the Highways Authority to make roads near the reservoir safe for pedestrians.

Details of the preferred proposals will be on display from June 27-29, with members of the project team available to answer any questions, and feedback forms will be available for people to leave their comments.

The exhibition will be held in the following places:

* Cheddar: Church House, Church Street: June 27 at 3.30-7.30pm and June 28 at 1-7.30pm.

* Axbridge: Town Hall, The Square: June 29 at 10am-4pm.
