AN EVENT held in memory of a well-loved Worle figure raised £1,200 for a good cause.
A gala concert was staged at St Martin's Junior School in Spring Hill, Worle, in June in memory of Reverend Prebendary Neville Kent.
The money raised has been counted and will go towards building a church in Ndeke, Zambia, a cause close to the heart of Rev Kent, who died last September. He supported the Ndeke congregation for many years and it was one of his chosen charities.
The 66-year-old was the team rector of the ecumenical parish of Worle for 17 years and was also the mayor's chaplain.
St Martin's Church choir has also donated £500 towards the Zambia Appeal.
