A lavish party commemorating the life and work of acclaimed Scottish poet Robbie Burns was held on Saturday evening – with all proceeds going to a very worthy cause.

The Burns Night celebration at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House, in Smallway Congresbury, featured a four-course meal alongside traditional rousing Scottish performances from the 10-piece Shirley Pipe Band.

The event’s proceeds went towards the Guide Dog Association, and a guide dog in training – 12-week-old golden retriever Tudor – was extremely popular with guests all night long.
