THE Cheddar Chariot Challenge along the Strawberry Line from Cheddar to Sandford - and back again - raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Around 50 people joined together to raise money for the Nicola Corry Support Foundation, an organisation which supports families where a parent has cancer by relieving financial hardship caused by the illness.
Rules stated that teams should travel with at least one person on wheels, and chariots ranged from bikes and buggies to a grass-covered wheelbarrow, a shopping trolley and an old office chair.
The prize for the most innovative chariot was awarded to The Portishead Princesses, who made a pink carriage out of a wooden cart, while the most ridiculous chariot honour went to the Basket Madness team, whose washing basket made the full 10-mile journey in one piece.
