DELICIOUS meats, cheese and trifles were not the only highlights of the Hewish, Puxton and Wick St Lawrence harvest home, as visitors also enjoyed an afternoon of activities and entertainment.

Boiled ham and roast beef were carved up ready to be handed out to families and friends under the marquee in Worle on Saturday.

Visitors were protected from the showers under the bunting-decorated tent in Ebdon Road and youngsters were able to enjoy games in the afternoon after the feast, followed by live music.

Toasts and speeches were given by Jeremy Kerswell, head of land-based studies at Bridgwater College, president of the harvest home Derek Mead, and harvest home committee member Chris Redding and Bryony Sadler from the flooding on the Somerset Levels action group.
