THIS year’s Winscombe May fair was blessed by glorious sunshine as villagers flocked in their droves to enjoy the Jubilee-themed event.

The event, held in Old Station Green on Saturday, was opened by former Time Team archaeologist Professor Mick Aston.

Youngsters from Winscombe Primary School participated in a spot of traditional maypole dancing, while there was also a display by Firestar Circus Arts, with youngsters then able to dabble in some circus skills themselves at a workshop.
