IMPRESSIVE dance performances from around the world, an array of tasty food from all cultures and much more was on offer to entertain visitors to this year's Your North Somerset event.

Now in its tenth year, the event’s atmosphere was as ‘buzzing’ as ever as crowds of around 1,500 people celebrated the best of what the region has to offer.

Weston’s mayor, Roz Willis, attended the event and told the Mercury: “It was very busy with visitors and organisations and the atmosphere was buzzing.

“I am so proud we have celebrated 10 years and the festival is still so successful and well used. Lots of entertainment and workshops by some very talented people.

“A Sunday afternoon with the family to enjoy, so much and for free.”

The North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) set up a special health zone, offering advice on how to get healthy, including tips on quitting smoking and weight loss.

More than 100 stalls filled the seafront venue, offering arts, crafts, henna painting and plenty more besides.

This year also saw the launch of a film and photography competition showing off ‘a day in the life’ of North Somerset.

Prizes were given out on Saturday to the winning photograph and short film, highlighting some of the district’s best assets.
