GREEN-FINGERED gardeners around Weston and Worle have dug out their trusty spades, trowels and pitchforks once again to prepare for the best garden competition.

The competition is run annually by Weston Horticultural Society in conjunction with Weston In Bloom, and will see gardens judged to the standard of the Royal Horticultural Society.

The competition, which is sponsored by Cheddar Garden Centre, has classes for front, large, medium and small gardens as well as patios.

It is open to anyone in the Weston area, and will be judged the week commencing July 16.

Entry forms can be obtained from the Trading Hut, Clarke’s Field Allotments, Rector’s Way in Weston on weekends from 9.30am-12.30pm, or from Cynthia Filer at 8 Cormorant Close, Weston on 01934 514057.
