A North Somerset gas company hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for Prostate Cancer.

Employees from Gas Safe, with offices in Bleadon and Bristol, will be competing in the Bristol Rotary Dragon Boat Festival on June 18.

The team will take to the River Avon and go head-to-head with 35 other teams in traditional Viking-style boats, with 16 team members rowing and one beating a drum.

The men from Gas Safe will also host a barbecue at the event to raise additional funds.

Co-director Adam Stafford said: “We were looking for ways to give something back and to do something fun for charity.

“The charity is close to a lot of our hearts and this is a big event to get involved in. We are excited and hope to raise as much money as possible.”
