OUTRAGEOUS pink Cadillacs will go bumper to bumper with vintage Sunbeams and other classic motors when the Gay Classic Car Movement comes to Somerset. The group is planning to drop in on Chris O'Byrne and his museum of Frankie Howerd memorabilia at the comedian's former home in Cross.Hundreds of gay and lesbian members will drive to Cross for lunch in three local pubs and a cream tea at Wavering Down House on May 20. Chris said: "The group spotted me through an article I submitted to the Gay Times last year. They want to come because of Frankie and because of the beautiful surroundings."They are all booked for lunch at the New Inn, White Hart and The Lamb and will stay in Weston overnight. I think they want to make a weekend of it."Gay people don't scrimp and save on anything. They will turn up in Rolls Royces, Bentleys from the 1920s and 30s and old Ferraris. I expect there will be a few pink classic cars too."There are lots of vintage cars in the village itself. One of my neighbours has three and another one has four.
