SUPERSTARS from the world of pop, rock and country music are busy tuning up to help raise £130,000 for a new preschool. The likes of Bob Geldof, Level 42 and Weston's own Devious Phat have offered their help towards recording a charity album to raise cash for the new facilities in Lympsham.Paul Arnold, whose wife Kirsten is on the committee at the pre-school, is the brains behind the compilation. He said: "It has taken two months and about 50 e-mails to get everyone on board."One of the fund-raisers Mike Sherwood met Bob Geldof and explained about our charity album. He said if we need any help to get in touch with him directly."He said 'go for it and if you want something it'll happen. Don't take no for an answer.'"Level 42 may well come to Lympsham to look at the project.""This is better than I could have imagined. It is a wonderful musical experience."Other artistes who have shown an interest in recording a track include former Genesis frontman Ray Wilson, Roy Orbison's guitarist Bobby Goldsboro and renowned African group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Each track on the album will be a children's song performed in the artiste's individual style.Paul, whose three children have all gone to Lympsham Preschool, said: "I first got the inspiration when Disney released an album of children's songs and it worked really well."The first £130,000 from the album will go towards the new building which will go behind the first school in Rectory Way on land donated by the church. At the moment the pre-school uses Manor Hall but Paul Arnold says they badly need a new building. He said: "The preschool is in a temporary building. The toys are stored in an outside shed and the children have to go outside to the toilets."Each artiste will send their track to Kew Studios in Kewstoke by November so the album can be released early next year.
