A Weston-super-Mare woman hopes to raise hundred of pounds for charity in the town’s half marathon.

Mercury media consultant Gemma White, aged 33, has been running since she was 11 years old and has competed in half marathons around the South West and in Spain.

But she will be bringing her running shows to her home town to take on the inaugural Weston Super Half. She will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

She said: “I have chosen this charity because I know so many people within my family and friends have been affected.

“I would like to raise as much as I can to support families and the people whose lives it affects.”

Gemma has had a break from running over the past year so is working hard to get back into the swing of things in preparation for the marathon next month.
