Young German students explored Weston-super-Mare during the weekend as part of a youth exchange programme.

The visit was part of the Weston and Hildesheim Youth Exchange, which has been running since 2003.

The 35 youngsters are staying with Weston families while they visit the area.

North Somerset Council’s chairman, John Crockford-Hawley, prepared a walking quiz to enable them to explore the town and learn about its history.

Weston and Hildesheim have been twin towns since 1983.

Organisers are always looking for host families or for youngsters who would like to visit Hildesheim.

Anyone who would like to learn more about being a host family next year should email Debbie on
