TEENAGERS from across North Somerset will be polishing up their skills ready for the Nailsea Community Skateboard and Rollerblade Festival. The event, which is organised by Holy Trinity and Trendlewood Churches in partnership with Christian Surfers UK, is at Scotch Horn Park on August 28.The contest is now in its fourth year and has been partly funded by Nailsea Town Council and Nailsea Community Trust. It will feature a top rate skateboard and rollerblade competition, live music, DJs, face painting, hair braiding and a barbecue.Registration starts at 1pm with the contest running from 2pm-6pm.The finals will take place around 5pm followed by the presentations.Last year saw an entry of more than 40 skaters in the various categories with hundreds of spectators watching from the sidelines.Christian Surfers UK national director Phil Williams said: "In order to encourage the younger age group to get involved as well, there are also categories for the under 12s and under in both events. With great prizes and entry costs of £1 or £2 depending on age group, there should be a strong turn out again this year."For more details contact phil@christiansurfers.co.uk or go to the parish office at Holy Trinity Church, Church Lane, Nailsea.
