HAVE you been pestered by a poltergeist or gasped at a ghoul?Ghost Hunters South West is planning a trip to Cheddar Gorge and would like to hear from residents who may have had a ghostly encounter. The group will be visiting the caves sometime in August and has enlisted the help of students in Plymouth to film an investigation. Organiser David Thomas said: "Seeing as we are travelling to Cheddar it would be good to investigate other villages nearby. Anyone who has had ghostly goings on in Wedmore, Axbridge and Shipham should contact us so we can get a picture of hauntings in the area. "Axbridge is a medieval town and there are lots of old buildings and historic landmarks surrounding it. If ghosts haunt the area we would love to take a look at those as well." David's wife Christine will be attempting to make contact with the ghosts and ask them who they are and why they haunt the area. The group decided to organise the investigation after it was contacted by several residents and visitors who reported seeing ghosts in the caves. Although a final date has not yet been set, the group hopes to take along college students who will bring video and sound recording equipment to try and capture the ghouls on camera. They then hope to broadcast the footage on Channel 4's website. Anyone who thinks they may know a haunting hotspot or has seen a ghost can contact the ghost hunters via the Somerset Mercury by emailing newsdesk@thewestonmercury.co.uk or calling 01934 422500.
