A TEENAGE cocaine addict headbutted and punched a 15-year-old girl to the ground in an unprovoked attack in a village park.Katie Chivers, of The Centre, Weston, approached the girl in the Recreation Field in Westfield Road, Banwell.The victim was near the swings in the park with two friends when Chivers walked towards her.There was a short argument before the 18-year-old punched the victim in the face. There was an attempt to restrain her, but Chivers headbutted the victim and then punched her to the ground.Chivers, who is single, unemployed and struggles with a cocaine problem, pleaded guilty to one charge of assault at North Somerset Courthouse in St Georges.Magistrates said they were considering a custodial sentence because the offence was so serious and unprovoked. They adjourned the case for sentencing on June 26 while the probation service draws up a pre-sentence report.At the hearing, Chivers also pleaded guilty to one charge of breaching a curfew order. The order has been extended by a month until September 9. She must stay at her address in The Centre from the hours of 7pm-7am.Owen Strickland, defending, said: "There was a certain amount of abuse going on but she accepts she hit the girl and accepts she did not have a justifiable reason for doing so."The incident happened on May 12.
