A group of girls enjoyed a chance to escape from their exam stresses when they tackled tangles and spots at a hair and beauty evening.

Chops Hairdressers, in Bath Street, Cheddar, and beautician Bridget Esmonde paid a visit to the senior section of Cheddar Valley Ranger Unit to talk to the group about looking after their hair and skin.

Group leader Bev Davies said: “The girls, all aged 14 to 18, are mid-way through exams at the moment and so this was an informative evening and a chilled night for them.

“We had such a good night and we have had amazing feedback from the girls’ parents.”

The Cheddar unit was formed in September last year and has 16 girls on its books who meet to enjoy a variety of activities and skills.

If anyone would like to find out more about the Cheddar Valley Ranger Unit and its activities, they should contact Bev Davies on 01934 732168.
