PICTURES of Axbridge through the ages have been popular with history fans from as far away as Australia.

Reg Glover's book, 'Over the Years' features photographs of the town and the pensioner's memories of growing up there.

Reg, aged 87, said: "I used to talk a lot about growing up in Axbridge and kept going on about it so one day my family just told me to go away and write a book about it.

"Since the book was published last year I have had someone from Australia place an order for six copies and 400 have been sold so far."

Reg, who now lives in Yardley Road in Winscombe, grew up in a house in St Marys Street and lived in the town until the 1970s.

The town pubs including The Lamb and St John the Baptist Church are all featured in the book.
