SUPPORTERS of the Bone Cancer Research Trust came together to tee off at a big fundraiser in memory of a Worle youngster.

Family and friends of Mary Collard, who lost her brave battle with the disease aged 11, organised the event at Worlebury Golf Club in Monks Hill at the weekend, and raised more than £10,000.

Mary, who was a keen golfer, was also a member of Weston’s Swimming Club.

Mum Sue Collard and dad Andrew welcomed visitors to the event, where they played a round of golf and enjoyed refreshments. There was also a chance for young ones to have a go at the sport and later a live band, casino night, raffle and auction was arranged.

The Collard family, friends and supporters have raised in excess of £100,000 through various charity events and work to raise awareness of the illness and work done by the trust.
