A golf day has raised £11,700 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, in memory of Mary Collard from Worle.

Mary, aged 11, died from a form of bone cancer in 2012, and her family have been raising money in her memory ever since.

The event at Worlebury Golf Course attracted 160 golfers.

It brings Mary’s parents Sue and Andy Collard’s fundraising total to £299,500 over the past four years.

Sue said: “It was a beautiful day, the sun shone and everyone had a great time.

“We wanted to thank everyone who took part, who donated and has supported us.”

Sue and Andy reached the £250,000 mark in April, and expect the total to reach £300,000 soon.
