A messy church gave youngsters and their parents the opportunity to learn about the Bible in a new and interesting way.
Families from Axbridge attended St John the Baptist Church’s messy afternoon on Saturday afternoon.
Children learned about the different books which make up the Bible and then enjoyed a number of different crafts based on the theme.
Church member Heather Hawkings said the events gave people the opportunity to enjoy attending church without feeling pressured to sit through a full service.
She added: “We had a very good turnout with more than 20 children and their guardians take part.
“The children were making clay models to do with the creation story and working to paint a large picture, which will go up in the church.
“It was a lovely day and a good opportunity to introduce people to the church.”
