A SUMMER ball, held in memory of a Worle youngster, has raised more than £5,000 for charity.
Aimee Franklin held the event on Weston’s Grand Pier to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust in memory of Mary Collard.
Mary lost her battle with bone cancer last year and family friend Aimee decided to help Mary’s relatives with their fundraising efforts.
The ball was also supported by Aimee’s employer Lloyds TSB and the company has decided to match some of the funding. Family and friends are hoping the final total will be close to the £10,000 mark and that the event will help raise awareness of the trust.
