A charity walk will take place in Weston this weekend, to support a Burnham mental health charity.

In Charley’s Memory is a charity devoted to helping young people who are battling mental health issues and was started by Jo Clement, whose son Charley Marks took his own life back in 2014. He suffered with depression and anxiety.

The charity has teamed up with The Grand Pier and North Somerset Council to organise a 10km walk, which will start at the Beach Lawns tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am and finish there too.

Charlotte Gaylard, events coordinator at the Grand Pier and cousin of Jo Clements, said: “Not a day goes by without a thought of Charley.

“We do not want anyone to feel vulnerable to the point that suicide seems a good option so we’re doing everything we can to raise awareness and knowledge.”
