A WESTON grandfather and railway enthusiast has had his third book published.

John Carson, of Manor Road, has written Railway Memories 1944-2010, which was inspired by his love of the mode of transport throughout his lifetime.

The 69-year-old, whose father Harold was a similar enthusiast, has a particular interest in the steam trains of the 1950s and 1960s.

The father-of-three and grandfather-of-three said: “I was inspired by the last book I wrote, which were the notes and recordings of my father’s railway activities in the 1920s and 1930s.”

John’s First book was about ceramics.

His latest offering can be ordered at book shops and is also available on 01633 676629 or via www.authorsonline.co.uk

All proceeds will go to Save The Children and CAFOD (Catholic Agency For Overseas Development).
