A THOUGHTFUL pensioner will be rustling up a Christmas dinner for those without family this year – for the 11th time.

NSHousing resident, Win Thorne, of Sandringham Court on the Bournville estate, has cooked a Christmas lunch for lone friends and neighbours for more than 10 years and says she thoroughly enjoys it.

The married mum-of-two cooks up a turkey with all the trimmings each Christmas Day before serving cake, trifle and mince pies in the afternoon.

The great-grandmother-of-14 said: “Some people have no one at Christmas so they really appreciate what I do.

“It’s always a great day for people to get together who don’t have anyone and my husband Eric thinks it’s great too.”

Win cooked for 11 people last year and this year she is expecting eight or nine guests.
