GRAVEYARD inspections across North Somerset will begin again next month.
North Somerset Council officials will re-inspect closed churchyards where memorials and gravestones showed signs of fatigue when they were looked at 18 months ago.
The streets and open spaces team will be looking to see if structures which are cracked or have loose brickwork have deteriorated any further.
Any discovered to be unsafe will be laid down or supported with stakes.
Inspections will take place from December 3-7 at St Martin's Church in Worle and St Peter's Church in Portishead and. Notices about the work will be placed in the churchyards.
Members of the public and parishioners will still be able to visit the burial sites during the inspections.
Anyone with any concerns about the inspections can call Pauline Pearce on 01934 888802.
