DRUGS, money and guns have been seized from a suspected drug dealing hotspot in Portishead in a major evening raid.Police swooped on four addresses in the town, and seized £9,000 in cash, suspected to have been made from selling drugs.Officers picked up a large quantity of methodone, a stash of cocaine and two hydroponics sets - commonly used for growing illegal drugs indoors. They also seized three air pistols and an air rifle - all suspected to be used for drug dealing. One man in his 30s was arrested for drugs offences and money laundering and three men in their 20s were arrested for drugs offences. They have all been bailed without charge while further investigation takes place. The operation was carried out after intelligence was gathered about the four addresses in Bristol Road, Queens Avenue, Greenfield Park and Victoria Square.Neighbourhood Sgt Sarah Treweek, based at Nailsea Police Station, said: "Although large quantities of drugs were not recovered, this was an extremely successful operation."Not only have we interrupted the activities of those involved by seizing assets and equipment, but we have also sent them a clear message that we are aware of what they are involved with, and that it will not be tolerated."Intelligence was gathered over a period of time from the public and officers so we could execute warrants at the addresses."We have suspected activities at these addresses in the past and as soon as we had the warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act we organised the operation."Pictured: PC Martin Faithfull with some of the seized goods.
