A POPULAR gymnastics club in Nailsea is appealing for help to raise £3,000 for new equipment.
Mycon Gym Club is desperately in need of new floor mats to help youngsters to train and organisers are appealing for businesses in the town to donate to the cause.
The club, which meets in Nailsea Methodist Church hall in Silver Street, caters for 385 children and runs sessions six days a week.
Mike Hanley, whose six grandchildren attend the club, said: "It's a very valuable club for the whole area and the children do really well in competitions across the country.
"We are appealing to parents and businesses to help us raise the money we need."
The 20-year-old group is currently looking for a new base and is raising cash to pay for a new building as well as replacing old equipment.
Members are currently celebrating success after the youngsters picked up a host of awards at the Kingsbridge Gymnastics Festival.
The youngsters picked up seven gold and three silver medals at the competition.
Anyone interested in donating cash to the club can contact the gym on 01275 852889.
