A CHAMPION hairdresser from Weston has worked his magic again to retain his European title.Steven Smart, owner of Hair Wizard in the Boulevard, has been named European Hairdressing Champion for the second time.Steven has been hairdressing for 16 years and first won the title in March last year.The 33-year-old, who lives in Lower Bristol Road, travelled to Frankfurt in Germany to take part in The Europe Cup contest.The 'trend cut and style' category won by Steven was competed for by stylists from 11 countries.He said: "The pressure was immense. As defending champion you are expected to succeed and I was more nervous than ever before. We are now looking forward to finally achieving our goal of becoming world champions at HairWorld 2008 in Chicago next March."Tanya Akerman, aged 20, who works at Hair Wizard, also competed in the contest and came home with a bronze medal for consistency over two years.Steven and his wife, Debbie, have owned the Weston salon since September 1999.* Pictured: Steven and his models in Germany.
