A CLOSED-DOWN base for Jehovah’s Witnesses in Weston could soon be turned into houses.

A developer has submitted plans to convert an unused hall in Swiss Road into three houses, two of which would have parking.

In a supporting document for the planning application, agents Architecture Plus said the hall had been empty for six months despite efforts to get a new tenant.

The firm also said the building, which has also been used as an office for the Red Cross, had been targeted by vandals in recent weeks.

North Somerset Council is expected to make a decision on the planning application by February.
