'Hands off - we're not for sale!'

ONE of Weston's best-loved pubs is NOT for sale - despite an internet site advertising it for a cool £1million.
Business property sales specialist RTA this week claimed to be offering Scally’s, in Carlton Street, to would-be buyers, prompting several calls and emails to the Mercury from concerned patrons.
But Dawn Coupe, who has been landlady of the biker-friendly watering hole for 20 years, says there is no prospect of her selling up.
She admitted to making tentative inquiries several years ago when it was suggested that a regeneration of Dolphin Square could involve compulsory purchase orders being served on nearby properties, but says there are no current plans to sell.
Dawn said: “I am not leaving. I don’t know where the information came from, but I’ve contacted RTA and asked them to remove it from their website.
“It’s earning me a living, and with new developments at Dolphin Square, we’re in a good location. It’s not for sale.”
Dolphin Square is set to be levelled and replaced with a new cinema, hotel, bowling alley, and shops including Debenhams and Primark.
However, earlier plans for the area – which included the sites currently occupied by Scally’s and Carlton Mansions – were ditched.
