A NAILSEA couple are to paddle from Bristol to London in a dragon boat to raise money for charity.Ginette and Gareth Corr, with a crew of 19 friends, will be paddling 165 miles to raise money for Cancer Research UK.They will set off on May 24 from Westminster and pass through Staines. The next day they will paddle on to Wargrave and then to Hungerford. They are hoping to make a grand entrance into Bristol Harbour on May Bank Holiday and are calling on people to come and welcome them home.Ginette said: "All members of the team have been affected directly or indirectly by cancer."This challenge gives us the opportunity to raise money for such an invaluable cause."Our team ranges in age from 16 to mid 50s with both friends and locals from the Ring O'Bells in Nailsea, whilst others are members of the local boat team and the British Dragon Boat Association."Some of the crew have been rowing for years, but for others it will be their first event."The couple are no strangers to challenges.Last year they were part of a group of seven friends who walked Hadrian's Wall in four days raising £2,700 for Cancer Research UK.For more information on Cancer Research's work or how to support the charity contact 0207009 8820 or visit www.cancerresearchuk.org
