Weston’s Helicopter Museum is flying high after receiving a endorsement from the Arts Council.
The council has renewed its accreditation of the museum, near Locking, recognising its ‘high standards of professionalism’.
Elfan Ap Rees, founder of the Helicopter Museum, said: “The award is a reflection of the dedication and hard work put in by staff and volunteers, led by general manager Lee Mills.
“This is especially pleasing as it demonstrates the museum meets the same high standard as leading professional museums across the UK.”
This year saw the Arts Council revise its criteria, making it far more difficult for museums to achieve its backing.
This is the second accolade in a month for the museum, which recently won a Vertical Flight Society Heritage Award.
Accreditation is awarded on a five-year basis.
Work to improve facilities at the museum is ongoing.
