The attraction, in Locking Moor Road, hosted a vintage wheels vehicle rally on Sunday, featuring dozens of retro cars.

Motorbikes, cars, buses and even a fire engine parked up around the refurbished control tower and pilot block on the airfield.

Impressive motors included a rare 1996 Rover Mini Cabriolet, a 1989 Hillman Minx and a BMC J4 pick-up truck from 1970.

Free bus rides around the area were offered which allowed people to learn more about Weston’s aviation history.

Visitors were also able to get closer to the museum’s extensive collection of helicopters.

Some of the aircraft were opened up to allow awe-inspired guests to sit behind the wheel and get a feel for what it would be like to be a pilot.
