AN INFORMATION hub aiming to give people advice, help and services has officially opened on Weston's Bournville estate.

The Information Station was opened by John Penrose, MP for Weston last week.

North Somerset Credit Union, westonworks and Alliance Homes are all based in the station in St Andrews Parade.

Whether applying for a loan, looking for work, reporting antisocial behaviour or raising problems with rent, residents can call in to the centre.

It also has internet computers which can be used for job searches and CV writing.

Mr Penrose said that the main aim of station is to act as an access point for many different agencies under one roof.

It is open 9am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am-4.30pm Friday.

People can also use the services from home by calling 0300 1113012 or going to www.theinformationstation.org.uk.
