A BAND of volunteers clearing snow from roads and pavements is to be set up in Banwell.

Members of the parish council agreed to set up the working party after the problems many residents faced during the festive period.

Cars struggled to move out of driveways and people stayed clear from many icy pavements during the cold conditions in December.

An advertisement for volunteers will be published by the council following the proposal, put forward by councillor Paul Bateman.
