A railway wagon and bales of paper were destroyed in a fire at a commercial building in Highbridge.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service crews raced from Burnham-on-Sea to Commerce Way at 2.30pm, and were on the scene for two hours putting out the blaze.

Although the fire was out at just before 4pm, crews stayed at the building to check if the blaze and heat had spread.

Part of the outside of the building has been damaged by the heat and smoke, while 10 to 15 bales of paper have been destroyed.

A railway wagon, measuring about three metres by five metres, was also destroyed.
