Highbridge’s wassail celebration boasted a record attendance at the weekend, with more than 500 people braving the winter chill to enjoy the South West tradition.
Rich’s Cider, in Mill House, hosted the celebration and it could not have been a more traditional evening.
The wassail queen placed a piece of cider-drenched burnt toast on the apple tree to attract robins which symbolise the good spirits of the orchard.
Organisers of the event said they hope to have raised a good sum of money for The League Of Friends at Burnham Hospital and rotary charities from across the area.
There were also live performances from The Skimmity Hitchers and Bob Darch music, who both proved to be a huge hit.
