Major delays on M5 with 90-minute delays reported

Drivers are being advised to take food and drink with them because bank holiday traffic queues on the M5 are so long.
Motorists have faced significant delays throughout the day as they try to get away to enjoy the bank holiday.
Current estimates suggest it will take one-and-a-half hours longer than normal to drive through Somerset.
But for many, it has been a day of traffic jams and misery.
A lorry fire near Taunton has not helped, but the large amount of cars on the road have caused long delays throughout the day.
A Highways England spokesman said: “There are currently long delays of up to two hours on the M5 between junction 19 (Gordano) and junction 25 (Taunton) due to the bank holiday getaway.
“Please plan ahead, be prepared and take care on your journey.
“We recommend packing snacks and drinks and hope you all have a nice weekend.”
The worst of the delays are southbound as people look to visit Devon and Cornwall but there are some small jams northbound.
