RESCUE volunteers were called into action in Burnham twice over the Easter holidays.Burnham coastguards were called to Brean beach on April 12 when a Range Rover became stuck and then lost in the mud.The occupants, who had driven more than half a mile out into the mud, escaped unhurt. But the vehicle couldn't be saved after it was sucked downwards and swamped by water.On Easter Sunday the hovercraft team had to go to the rescue of four jet-skiers whose Volkswagen van was caught in the tide in Bridgwater Bay near Burnham jetty. The jet-skiers tried to free the vehicle but the hovercraft crew had to attach a rope to it to pull it free.
