BUSINESSES involved in locally grown, reared or produced food and drink can be featured in a directory.

The Taste of North Somerset publication promotes consumption of fresh, healthy food as a contribution towards creating sustainable communities in the district.

North Somerset Council is supporting the reprint of the directory in time for Easter.

The current leaflet lists more than 50 producers, farm shops, retailers and markets selling produce from across North Somerset and some surrounding parishes.

The financial support for the leaflet is part of the council's work to encourage people to 'shop local' in North Somerset.

Deputy leader and executive member for economic development Councillor Elfan Ap Rees said: "To make sure this leaflet is as comprehensive as possible we want to ensure all local producers and retailers who produce and stock a high proportion of North Somerset products are included in the reprint."

Inclusion in the directory is free. For more details call Mandie Berry on 01934 426341 or email mandie.berry@n-somerset.gov.uk
