WESTON Hospicecare is welcoming the public to its new refurbished base at an open afternoon.

The charity has carried out improvements, worth £547,000, thanks to a grant from the Department for Health.

The open afternoon will be held at the Uphill site tomorrow (Fri) from 2.30-6pm and visitors will have the opportunity to look around the hospice and talk to staff and volunteers.

Work has included improved access to the hospice, refurbishment of the day hospice and a re-landscaped garden and courtyard.

Gill Young, hospice chief executive, said: “We would love members of the community from all over North Somerset and the surrounding areas to join us tomorrow - we want to celebrate as one big community.”
